Dear Friend, Rallier and South Lancashire Centre Member,
Having recently returned from a break in North Devon with my family I was reviewing the Emails which were in the Chairman’s mail box and I found an Email addressed to the Chairman of the Centre which gave me information in relation to a newspaper article which appeared within the Bolton News on the 26th May 2021 in respect of Gerry Lunn (the late husband of one of our past Chairman Mrs Christine Lunn) and the Bolton Hospice giving details of an event on the 19th June 2021, “My Memories Walk” which is referred to as 10,000 step virtual walk being undertaken amongst others by Christine and Gerry’s Daughter Deb and her son to raise money for the Hospice
In this respect I have elected to undertake the walk and have put my name forward as an entrant, and to this end with the support of the Rally Officers at the Ambleside Rally, Tony and Jean Lee and Ernie and Dolores Merry, Megan my Dog and my walking stick I hope to complete the walk on the Sunday 20th or Monday 21st June and would welcome any sponsorship that you may wish to give.
I am sure all will agree that Hospices in general do a fantastic job of caring for the terminally ill especially with cancer care, and many of us will be able to relate to instances where family members or friends have suffered with cancer and in their final moments have been treated and looked after by the staff and facilities within a Hospice. Should you wish to take part in the event yourself please call the Bolton Hospice Fund raising Team direct, register and request a participant’s pack.
I do hope you can support this charitable cause, especially as this year we as a centre do not have a named charity.
Best wishes and regards to all,
Chairman South Lancashire Centre Caravan and Motorhome Club
